Boom! Hey lovely people, new market opening tomorrow, at the LA Medical Center, 4800 Hollywood Blvd at Vermont. More info on this to come. Milk Man is becoming Milk MAMMOTH! Yesss! All according to plan!
Milk Man is expanding and not just because of all the delicious cheese that’s been gracing my doorstep recently! Starting April 28th, I will be at the Autry Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 8 to noon, courtesy L.A. City Farm. Autry members get a 10% discount! People, there’s a beautiful farmer’s market at the zoo!!!!! So righteous. Big thanks to my pal Nick Spano :)))))
The address is:

Introducing Alissa from North Bay Curds and Whey. She is a fledgling cheesemaker from Berkeley, making cheese in a spanking brand-new facility in Marin County. I am expecting big things from her and I’m honored to give her a boost in the southland. I will be updating the cheeses section with her info directly.
Joining her will be Karen and Joe from Valley Ford Cheese Co., a farmstead operation specializing in alpine styles. Rounding out the list will be organic butter from McClelland’s Dairy (when people say it’s “like butta” this is what they mean), Caproncino from Bohemian Creamery and Toma from Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese.
Come celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with milk’s very own leap towards immortality!
Amazing doc on the rise of American farmstead cheesemaking played off the decline of the European tradition. Interesting socially on many levels. Click the CC button for captions.
Hello all you beatiful people! The milk man is on vacation this weekend at the California artisan cheese fest in petaluma. I just saw gianaclis caldwell chopping bread in a prep room. I don’t get star shock often but… Whoa. What this means is that, yes, the milk mom and milk dad will be taking over my market booth at mar Vista this Sunday. They will have ample supplies of toma from point Reyes, seascape from central coast, caproncino and Romeo from Bohemian, and silver mountain from bravo, and of course embarassing naked stories from my youth. Go say hi, ask them questions, but try to avoid any modern colloquialisms.
Milk Man friend Justin sent this in. This jingle is so spot on in so many ways.
Hey everybody, I hope you like unbelievably delicious farmstead cheese and butter, or else this is going to be kind of a bummer post. In addition to GOAT GOUDA from Central Coast Creamery and ROMEO, CAPRONCINO and BOHO BELLE from my ladies at Bohemian I have…
Silver Mountain Cheddar from Bravo Farms in Traver, CA — a clothbound, English style raw milk cheddar.
Toma from Point Reyes — naturally rinded asiago style full of character.
Salted European style butter from McClellands Dairy — real grass fed butter, natural and organic and full of flavor. I never knew butter could taste like this.
It’s going to be a rediculously pretty Sunday. Go visit my Homeboys for some bread then hit me to taste what sunshine does to milk. PEACE!
